I just finished my first day on the job I accepted from Toothio. It was a very nice day. Toothio is user-friendly and very easy to operate. Thank you for an awesome experience.

Great app, better than all the other dental temp apps out there. I am actually getting booked for jobs.

Very nice warm and friendly office! Extremely helpful staff. The app made clocking in and out easy.

This was the first Temp job that I’ve done in a long time. The office was great. I got paid right away. I chose the instant for payment. I would definitely do it again and I would definitely use this app. Only downfall is there’s not enough jobs, but nothing to do the app.

Dissent

The other side

The recurring complaints worth keeping an eye on — the dissent behind the ratings.

Bad temping agency! Unfortunately they have most shifts available. Be prepared for -ve surprises! It got worse.

I like that the app it got me a shift right away but I wish there were closer shifts in Distance, available to me that are for gp not only for ortho. I do not have much experience in that area. Also displaying shifts that don’t have to have an RDA license to work them. Possibly something that more pertains to the individual who set up the account to find the shifts more available to them. Defining more of their expertise.

I always get my payouts in a method of instant form and on this last shift I worked it told me that I needed to wait 2 to 3 business days until I receive the funds. It’s been well over the 2 to 3 business days and I have still not been paid for my shift. When I contacted them, they were able to release the payment and instead of instant it was put in a standard form, without my knowledge. I’ve contacted them again and haven’t got any response via text or email in the past 2hrs. So now again, I have to wait 2 to 3 business days to be paid for a shift that I worked nearly 1-2 weeks ago.

Missing shifts — Keeps logging me off so I end up missing shifts. Extremely annoying.

Low pay — I set my hourly amount and I get notifications for shifts that are $8 less per hour than my minimum. No one on this app pays my rate, but thankfully I get plenty of temp jobs at my rate on a local dental staffing app. I was also approached by a Toothio recruiter and when I told them I’m not interested in a permanent position with a dental office due to having to be a caregiver for my Mom at the moment, they still sent my info to a dental office which reached out to me. I had to tell them sorry Toothio sent over my info when I said no.

Payment — For 8 hours I should get paid 560$ for 70/hour but I got 409$

No Jobs Available — I don’t know if it’s my area(DMV) or that’s it’s close to the holidays but there aren’t any jobs. I’m deleting the app and my account and sticking to another service.

Dental hygienists regard Toothio with decidedly mixed sentiment, with significant operational and customer service concerns offsetting modest praise for app usability and flexible scheduling. Users consistently criticize technical problems—persistent logout issues causing missed shifts, authentication code requirements, app crashes, and sign-in failures—alongside substantive grievances including payment discrepancies, inadequate job availability in many regions, underpayment relative to stated rates, and unexplained contact with offices after declining permanent positions. Additional complaints encompass poor customer service responsiveness, limited shift filtering by location and specialty, geographic irrelevance (receiving opportunities outside the user's licensing states), and unsolicited spam and messaging. While some users praise the straightforward interface, quick payment options, and responsive support on individual shifts, these commendations are outweighed by recurring reports of unreliability, unmet expectations, and a perception that competing platforms—particularly Princess Dental Staffing—offer superior job selection and office quality. The overall impression is of a platform that overpromises convenience and opportunity but underdelivers on both technical stability and actual market supply.

I live in SoCal and temp full time. There’s been a decrease in it since around 2023 but you can still find a consistent amount! I use both of these platforms for finding the most and super easy to use! https://www.princessdentalstaffing.com/r/ef8a083104edab50acec42234bc14573 https://pro.toothio.co/professional/signup?…

I've used a few apps to help me fill days when my current office is closed. I've tried a couple where there just weren't enough jobs, like on Cloud and Toothio. Plus I've been sent to a few shady offices using Toothio. The best bet has been with Princess. I think they have the best offices too, usually…

It really depends on where you’re located and if you’re willing to travel, I would recommend downloading a few apps, but yes, it is sustainable. In my area there are a lot of offices in need of hygienists. Teero, Kwikly, Clipboard, GoTu, toothio. There are also temp agencies that you can work with if you can’t find of…

Toothio — Long ago, maybe a year ago I downloaded the Toothio app and signed interest for temp work. The company never had anything in my area and I have not opened their app in at least 10 months. In Dec of 2025 and again today I received a text message from someone named Mel at Toothio inquiring if I was interested in a perma…

Full time temping benefits advice — looking for advice ... with the new DDH Compact, I'm looking at traveling more as a temp and want flexibility, but I still need insurance. I'm curious about the FT benefits offered by different companies (onDiem, Kwikly, GoTu, Toothio, etc.) not that I have great insurance currently, but I want to make sure I&…

I’ve tried most of the dental temping apps! Here are my honest thoughts (Central FL RDH who also picks up DA shifts) and what I wish I knew before going full-time temp — Hi! I’m a dental hygienist in Central Florida who temps full time. Because I’m full time temping, I also pick up dental assistant shifts if it makes sense $$$ wise. I genuinely love temping! It lets me control my schedule and spend more time with my son. Here’s my take on the apps I’ve used the most, plus a few things…

Temping on the PNW — Hello I just recently moved to the PNW and I would like to temp before I commit to a full-time hygiene job. What temping agencies I should join? I’ve been looking at Toothio. Ugh, that’s frustrating... Especially since they agreed to your schedule upfront. Temping could actually be a solid option if you’re juggling school. I’ve been using Toothio for picking up shifts and it’s super flexible and lets you work when you want with same day pay. Might be worth checking out while you figure out…
