In their words

What keeps earning five stars
Dental assistant — I have worked with Stynt for a few years & I’m very pleased with their service. The people at the offices I’ve worked at have been very kind & professional. The company always pays on time & are always available whenever I have had Questions. I’m very grateful for this company, for it has allowed me to make extra money, meet wonderful people & the hours are flexible to my availability. Lubia.

Dissent

The other side

The recurring complaints worth keeping an eye on — the dissent behind the ratings.

Hygienist — Disappointed. I emailed and called several times to verify myself and have Stynt verify my profile but no one has returned my contacts. Unable to look for jobs and use the app. Unable to talk to a human (not AI answering services) to have my account active to use.

Customer service — Customer service is trash I’ve been waiting over 5 months to get my account verified I called emailed the information provided it’s always we are still waiting for your reference response i’ve sent the link multiple times to my office manager, and I legit seen her do it in front of me and still nothing definitely don’t recommend

Still not cleared still not listing jobs — Disappointed in communication with company for employment opportunities

CAN’T SEE OFFICE NAME BEFORE — Most temping apps are starting to show you the office name before you apply. This app seems to be outdated with their system. Needs an update so that you are able to see the office name before applying to shifts and the ability to message the office directly through the app!

The app randomly stops working — To find a job, it’s a good app. The part where offices can still review you even if you cancel the job is ridiculous! But my worst thing is not being able to clock in and relying on the office to put in the correct time.

AI summary · across 52 reviews & posts

Dental hygienists and assistants report mixed but increasingly unfavorable experiences with Stynt. While some users praise flexible scheduling, responsive support, and reliable pay, substantial complaints center on verification delays lasting months despite repeated contact attempts, inadequate customer service responsiveness, technical app failures, payment processing issues, lack of employee benefits or sick leave protections, and employer-friendly policies that allow last-minute cancellations and account suspensions for missed shifts. Common criticisms also include limited job postings in certain geographic areas, outdated app features, and an overall perception that the company prioritizes office needs over worker welfare. The positive reviews, predominantly brief and generic, are outweighed by detailed accounts of frustration and professional dissatisfaction.

Totally agree, it’s such a solid career for flexibility and stability. Once you’re licensed you can pick up temp RDH shifts pretty easily through apps like Stynt, which makes balancing work and mom life a lot smoother.

Yeah most docs have a work-back clause after selling, pretty common. I’d hang tight if the vibe stays good but start easing into some temping to see what’s out there. I pick up extra DA shifts through Stynt when offices change hands, makes the transitions way less stressful.

Just keep it simple and frame it like you were temping to gain variety and find the right office culture. I usually just say I picked up different temp roles through Stynt to stay busy while figuring out what kind of team and systems fit best. Keeps it positive and shows you were still active in the field.

I’ve been temping full time for a while now as a DA and it’s honestly been great for flexibility and trying different offices. The only hard part is keeping a steady schedule at first, but once you find your rhythm it’s solid. I usually pick up shifts through Stynt since it’s been consistent in my area.

Yeah I had a similar experience temping there, nice team but definitely a lot of questionable perio calls and production pressure. I only pick up shifts like that now if I can verify their protocols first. Been using Stynt for temp gigs and it helps me see which offices actually let you practice ethically before accep…

In north FL I usually see temps pulling around 600–800 daily depending on procedure mix and flow, sometimes higher if covering emergencies or multi-day blocks. Rates vary a lot by area and if supplies or lab costs fall on you. I pick up shifts through Stynt now and the typical posted rates there line up with that rang…

I pick up temp DA shifts around NYC pretty often and most offices I’ve worked in post through Stynt. It usually has a steady flow of short notice and planned shifts, so it’s worth checking while you’re in town.

Totally agree, passing around personal numbers feels outdated and kind of risky. I’ve been picking up RDH temp shifts through Stynt for a while and it’s nice not having to exchange numbers or deal with random Facebook messages since everything stays in the app. Having that layer of separation definitely keeps things m…

Aspen - worth the money? — I was recently “laid off” in a chaotic betrayal of a way, but that’s another story and not the point of this post. I worked for the same practice for 5 years, have a great resume and interview well but I’m not getting call backs on indeed. I did a stynt shift at our local Aspen and was really surprised, I liked the ma…

Same here, I’ve bounced around a lot while temping and you can really feel the difference when there’s no natural light. When I pick up shifts through Stynt I always hope for an op with a window, makes those long back-to-back prophies feel a lot lighter.

Totally get that, I went through the same thing and temping saved my sanity for a while. I pick up shifts through Stynt now which keeps things flexible while I figure out what kind of office vibe I actually want long term.

How’d the onboarding process go? Getting temp jobs (easy/difficult)? How were you paid W2? 1099? Any companies to recommend? I’m in school and need the flexibilit…
