GoTu

I am highly disappointed in this platform. I have temped as an RDH with them. I sent my referral link to a friend who signed up with them to temp. As we were looking at shifts together we both noticed it didn’t show any referrals. (The program was refer a RDH & get $300) She signed up for a shift & we both contacted them to see what happened. I was told 5 different things on why our referrals didn’t connect & basically oh well. She was told it would show up after she worked her shift and just wait to see, which I believe is another story & they will say she already worked a shift. It’s crazy how they can’t connect our accounts or get their story straight. I feel like they truly just don’t want to pay out a referral but now they are just going to lose me as a temp, my friend, and I will be sure to tell anyone on social media platforms how shady they are, to just use Kwikly & Iterro for a more honest platform. Crazy considering the significant need for RDHs now a days.

GoTu needs a fair cancellation policy for both dental offices and hygienists. Hygienists frequently cancel shifts the night before or even the day of, leaving offices scrambling to reschedule patients and find coverage. Yet dental offices can be fined for canceling within 7 days, while hygienists don’t appear to face the same consequences. This is extremely stressful and disruptive. Accountability should go both ways! GoTu needs to implement a policy that holds hygienists to the same cancellation standards as dental offices.

Temps constantly cancel a shift same day or at midnight the night prior with no consequences. DO NOT use this agency. They have no controls over their employees and most of the time no way to communicate except via text to someone who is most likely in a different country so no help to dental offices! Horrible horrible company!

Absolutely "0" There are many other platforms that are professional and ethical.

We have had issues with Gotu and would no longer recommend using them. We had an issue with a contracted employee who filled in and the company resolved it by offering a credit to our account (significant amount). This was in April 2026. It is now Sept. 2026 and we have not been refunded the money. I have tried to contact the company's help line and they put me on hold for 42 minutes and did not return. When I called back, they stated that I needed to contact a state representative. I have contacted the state representative multiple times and do not get a response or call back. The company is not being honest and will charge you for a shift as soon as it's booked. Do not expect any courtesies, refunds or credits from them. You've been warned.

We have recently used GoTu along with another temp agency while our hygienist was out of the office for an extended time. Overall the agency is good and the help we actually had in the office was well qualified and professional. However, we had a reserved hygienist for two days that called out sick for her first shift. That same day, we cancelled her shift for the next day (since she was sick). There was well over 24 hours notice and she was sick! We immediately re-posted the shift on GoTu to find available help, but unfortunately it was not filled. GoTu still charged us for the cancelled shift - even though THEIR EMPLOYEE cancelled on us in the middle of the night and left us uncovered for the next day. I have emailed them, called them and left messages, as well as texted and I have not heard back from anyone NOR have I gotten a refund for the charge for $583.10!

I was completely scammed by GoTu recruiting services. The initial sales pitch Lu Peralta made promised that they would fill a Treatment Coordinator position with a highly qualified candidate quickly and efficiently. I paid $3,000 for their services and received NOTHING in return. The recruiter I worked with rushed me into hiring someone initially. She set up a working interview incorrectly and made it seem like if I didn't hire the candidate that day she wouldn't be available. That candidate would come in 20-30 minutes late repeatedly, made a ton of mistakes and excuses and tried to blame me when I told her it wasn't going to work out. I am still finding mistakes that person made months ago. They had a "warranty period" where they would try to find a replacement. That started in June and the recruiter sent me a total of 6-7 candidates between June and now (the middle of September) who were also not well qualified for various reasons and asking for a higher salary than their experience warranted. I carefully followed up with each candidate sent to me and found out they were not clear on the salary and benefits I was offering (after speaking with the recruiter and being forwarded to me) or they lived much further away than the 10 mile distance I recommended. When I refused to rush into hiring someone again, or told the recruiter the reasons why candidates were not fully qualified or would not be a good fit, she would push back on me but I held my ground. I have worked with a dental recruiting company in the past, and this is not how they operated at all. They were easy to work with, followed my guidelines and sent me actual qualified candidates that were a good fit. Ultimately, I did an Indeed search to fill the role myself, which took one month. Out of 160 applications, I found over 30 actual qualified candidates, 5-6x more than GoTu ever sent me. I started with GoTu back in late April/early May of this year. These candidates had relevant and/or transferrable skills, lived within a 10 mile distance of the office and were willing to accept the pay structure and benefits I offered. GoTu is refusing to give me my money back due to being in breach of contract, so I am trying to warn others about their extremely poor recruiting service. Please do not waste your time or money with this shady company.

Unfortunately with more hygienists choosing to work through temp agencies, we rely on these agencies in finding candidates to help fill shifts. Yesterday we had an incident where a hygienist was not able to fulfill her clinical duties as she listed on her profile. This included basic responsibilities like taking xrays and writing clinical notes. I reached out to Gotu letting them know what had happened. I am appalled by the response I received. "While we understand how frustrating that situation is, please note that GoTu is unable to monitor or take responsibility for the specific clinical duties performed by professionals while on-site at your practice. Because this shift took place yesterday and has already been marked as complete, there is limited action we can take regarding yesterday's tasks or production" It is unfortunate that there is an attitude of oh the shift is completed, nothing we can do. I also feel like if a temp agency is going to work with hygienists, there should be some vetting involved. As a doctor who is unable to vet ahead of time for a shift, I am unsure how to hire knowing a hygienist is capable of what they are saying they can do. Temp agencies are getting far to comfortable taking advantage of offices. I am happy to hire through these agencies and even pay the high fees when needed, but quality assurance is something to be worked on.
